Production Supervisor (Editorial, Animated Feature)

Skydance Animation is looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to coordinate, schedule, and manage the day-to-day needs and workflow on a new feature film. They will oversee the Editorial department. The ideal candidate is a proactive and positive team-player, with the ability to multi-task amongst shifting priorities. They are an experienced leader who can motivate a team within a constantly changing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Strong working knowledge of the Editorial department on a CG animated production
  • Establish the edit schedule, indicating sequence review milestones and planning for dialogue record sessions to ensure department is on schedule for targeted screening date
  • Track all editorial notes, including outstanding fixes, additional dialogue pick-up needs, organize and prioritize the notes to keep department on schedule
  • Partners with Editor to establish agendas for editorial reviews in advance
  • Works with Production Manager and Producer to proactively assess staffing needs, overtime needs and inventory issues
  • Responsible for building records schedule; working with Script Coordinator to assess outstanding lines needed
  • Works with Story Production Supervisor to assess inventory between the departments
  • Manages editorial publishes to and from production
  • Actively communicates sequence changes from editorial to downstream departments
  • Maintains editorial portion of ShotGrid; tasks, ensures sequence run times are accurate and latest publishes are available
  • Manage work-flow and logistical activities for departments
  • Coordinate the timely availability of resources
  • Assign work alongside production leadership, manage schedules and workload; proactively predict and communicate as new assignments needed
  • Actively communicate status of work and assignments to the Producer
  • Responsible for accurate note-taking during reviews and communication of specific action items to departments, artists, etc.
  • Create and update databases as required with notes, statuses, and other information
  • Create and update production management tools and schedules such as planning, work in progress tracking systems and technical specification manuals
  • Supervisor and mentor to Production Coordinators and Production Assistants
  • Assist in maintaining crew morale
  • Other ad hoc projects and duties as needed
  • Requirements

  • Previous experience in Editorial on CG, feature production(s); Supervisor experience preferred
  • Strong managerial experience, leading a team within a professional, fast-paced environment
  • Previous experience using Shotgrid or comparable tracking software
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office & Google Suites
  • Exceptionally strong attention to detail, organizational and follow-through skills
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities while maintaining proactive communication with team
  • Ability to maintain positive attitude while anticipating issues and proactively identifying to solve and address
