Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant handles all monthly and quarterly journal entries as part of the month-end close process, including all show trial balance reconciliations.  In addition, this position handles network accounts receivable billing and collection efforts as well as monthly reporting to management.  This is a hands-on position working directly with Corporate Accounting and Film & TV Finance, providing finance & accounting support in various General Accounting areas.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Handle monthly trial balance reconciliations for all film and tv projects
  • Prepare all the necessary journal entries supporting month and quarter end financial reporting
  • Enter weekly production fundings from corporate to various productions
  • Assist with network billing and reporting, processing development bill backs, and coordinating collection efforts on any outstanding receivables
  • Assist with Paid by Skydance inter-company activity reconciliation
  • Assist with bank wires journal entry input into GL
  • Provide supporting documentation for areas of responsibility for year-end audit
  • Support with ad-hoc projects and additional responsibilities as needed
  • Requirements

  • Understanding of GAAP Accounting and Internal Controls
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, highly organized, flexible & dependable
  • Strong communication skills, highly organized and process oriented
  • Demonstrates professionalism, discretion, and good judgment in all interactions with co-workers, customers, vendors and others
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple projects at once
  • Experience with Intacct by Sage GL or similar systems is a plus
  • Production accounting experience preferred
  • Strong Excel & Word skills
  • Must have discretion with handling confidential or sensitive information
  • Four-year college degree or equivalent.  Accounting, Finance, Economics, or similar field preferred
  • 2-5 years relevant accounting experience in entertainment industry is preferred
