The Production Manager is responsible for the day-to-day production of the show and supports the entire team including Directors, Producers, Heads of Departments and artistic teams. This position requires the ability to strategize, create, manage, prioritize and organize the schedule and budget while balancing and prioritizing the needs across the show. As part of the projects leadership team, this role is influential in guaranteeing timely deliveries for all departments, while also projecting stability, guidance, and competency. #Animation
Manage overall show schedule and coordinate daily workflow of the movie
Work with Department Heads, Production team, Producers to schedule and plan production milestones and goals for each department; ensure milestones are met and troubleshoot issues that prevent departments from hitting their goals
Determine current and future staff needs based on input from Production and Department Heads, manage overall crew size and start/finish dates; flag for Producers and Studio potential problems in any of these areas
Work with Producers and Production Accountant in creating and maintaining the weekly staffing schedule
Track costs and work closely with the Production Accountant in ensuring cost controls are in place and maintained
Create and maintain production management and tracking systems
Make Producer aware of issues, problems, or delays, particularly those impacting costs or budget; prepared with solutions whenever possible
Run production report meetings and other reoccurring department meetings as needed
Assist Producer in hiring, performance reviews, transitions, and dismissal
Review and approve weekly time sheets, vacation requests, and OT approvals
Delegate and empower Production staff to manage their departments schedules and goals based on changing priorities for the film, encourage learning how their departments affect others in the pipeline
Provide coaching and mentorship to department heads and production management
Supervise and mentor Production Coordinators and Production Assistants
Participate in initiatives to develop and maintain crew morale
Work collaboratively with Studio Management on staffing, training, space and other areas where show needs and studio plans overlap
3-4 years of senior animation production management experience
Strong organization and communication skills (verbal and written)
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and problem solve
Ability to work well under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment
Possess complete knowledge of the animation production process
Successful partnerships with Artistic and Production Leadership
Strong working knowledge of Shotgun, Excel, Word, Storyboard Pro, and file sharing programs
Working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, Outlook and MS Office
