DESCRIPTION:
The Lead Pipeline Engineers is responsible for providing technical supervision to a team of Pipeline engineers, ensuring that the work meets the technical requirements, coding conventions, and quality established by the department. He/she also has the duty to ensure that the team’s deadlines are met. She/he will lead designs and act as a mentor and guide to all members of the department. In addition, he must collaborate with other departments to determine the needs for new developments. She/he will have a very close collaboration with the Pipeline Architects in the design and implementation of new developments.
The Lead Pipeline Engineer will also research, design, develop, document, and modify software specifications throughout the production life cycle.
A fundamental task of this role is to understand the operation of the animation studio and to propose development solutions focused on the best performance of the studio.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the design, development, testing, documentation, deployment and support of proprietary software used by concurrent film productions.
  • Staying abreast of current and future technology, methodologies and tools that best suit the studio.
  • Follow and help define the team’s technical guidelines and methodologies.
  • Analyze and assess existing workflows and procedures related to the company Pipeline.
  • Liaise with network administrators and system analysts to assist in resolving problems with hardware, software products or company software systems.
  • Leads the team providing them with support, guidance and instruction in areas that contribute towards their professional growth.
  • Follows the Supervisor’s guidance.
  • Manage individual and team project priorities, deadlines and deliverables.
  • Oversee day-to-day operation.
  • Define coding conventions, best practices and programming methodology for the team.
  • Manage several developments at the same time.
  • Good ability to change contexts and make decisions.
  • Serve as technical advisers to management and provide programming perspective on requirements.
  • Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional experience.
  • BS degree in Computer Science, or equivalent working experience
  • Relevant scripting experience in Python and Pyside.
  • Experience working with a source version control system (Git preferred).
  • Solid engineering skills, with an appreciation of code craft, quality, and technical debt management.
  • Ability to work with a team to deliver high-quality software in a fast paced, dynamic and deadline oriented.
  • Professional English level.
  • Experience working in medium or large companies.
  • Experience with Dockers, Kubernetes, Databases or REST APIs.
  • Production experience creating stable and extensible code libraries.
  • Experience developing in C++.
  • Strong creative and technical skills and ability to share them.
  • Flexibility and adaptability.
  • Focus energy on delivering on time and quality required, with autonomy.
  • Act as mentor inside and outside the team, establishing an effective working relationship and fluid communication environment, contributing to the individual and group achievement of objectives.
