Benjamin Bratt Latest To Join Mark Wahlberg, Paul Walter Hauser In Amazon MGM’s ‘Balls Up’
Emmy nominee Benjamin Bratt (Poker Face) is the newest addition to the cast of Balls Up, Amazon MGM Studios‘ upcoming action comedy from director Peter Farrelly and Skydance.
Details as to Bratt’s role are under wraps. As previously announced, Mark Wahlberg, Paul Walter Hauser, Molly Shannon and Eva De Dominici will also star.
Balls Up follows two American marketing executives who are fired for blowing a client sponsorship opportunity and decide to use their free tickets to a major soccer match. Their drunken debauchery leads them to be hunted by every person across the country.
Paul Wernick & Rhett Reese (Deadpool & Wolverine) wrote the script. Producers include Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger, Andrew Muscato, Wernick and Reese.
The project marks the fourth collaboration for Amazon MGM and Skydance, on the heels of the critically acclaimed sports marketing drama Air, The Tomorrow War starring Chris Pratt, and Without Remorse starring Michael B. Jordan. It also reunites Farrelly with Amazon MGM on the heels of the acclaimed comedy Ricky Stanicky, starring Zac Efron, John Cena, Jermaine Fowler and Andrew Santino, which debuted on Prime Video in March.
Previously seen in films like Piñero, Steven Soderbergh’s Traffic, Miss Congeniality, and Curtis Hanson’s The River Wild opposite Meryl Streep, Bratt has most recently appeared in Netflix’s Mother of the Bride, as well as the hit series Poker Face and Loot on Peacock and Apple TV+, respectively. Next up, the actor will be seen starring alongside Julianna Margulies, Minnie Driver, Brian d’Arcy James and Patrick Wilson in Edward Burns’ film Millers in Marriage.
Bratt is represented by Circle Management + Production, CAA, and Myman Greenspan Fox.
