About Us
Skydance Animation Madrid, S.L. (sociedad unipersonal), with tax identification number B-88576178 (“SAM”, “we” or “us”) is, according to the applicable regulations, Spanish Organic Law 3/2018, of December 5, for the Protection of Personal Data and guarantee of digital rights and to the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”), as well as to the Spanish Act 34/2002 on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce, the controller of the processing of your personal data. SAM is the Madrid-based animation studio wholly owned by Skydance Animation, LLC (“Skydance Animation”) in Los Angeles, California, USA. SAM’s address for notification purposes is Complejo Europa empresarial, C/ Rozabella 4, Edificio Bruselas, 28290 Las Rozas, Madrid.
This Privacy and IP Policy sets out how we collect and store personal information about you when you apply for a position at SAM. Any information that we collect about you that is personal to you, and from which it is possible to identify you, is known as personal data for the purposes of data protection laws.
What Personal Data Do We Collect About You?
We collect personal data from you when you complete an application form and/or send us a copy of your curriculum vitae, cover letter, demo reel or portfolio, including your name, address, previous employer, etc. If you make an application for a position here at SAM, you may be invited to complete interviews and written assessments, and you may also be asked for additional information, including about your immigration status and guild membership.
Please refrain from providing any special categories of data such as health, ideology, or race. We do not require any special categories of data in order to apply.
How Do We Use Your Personal Data?
We use the information you provide about yourself to:
- communicate with you;
- progress your application, including conducting background checks and determining the validity of the information you have provided; and
- to fulfil our legal and regulatory obligations as an employer/ potential employer.
What Legal Basis Do We Have For Using Your Information?
We process data to assess your suitability for the role you have applied for. We are therefore processing this data with a view to entering into a contract with you. We do not rely upon automated decision making in our recruitment process.
We may also process your personal data where it is necessary for our legitimate interests (for example, if you have signaled on LinkedIn that you are open to positions similar to the positions that we have open). Where we process your personal data based on legitimate interests this means we have assessed the impact of processing your information and have balanced your interests, rights and freedoms against our interests in processing your data in this way. This assessment has been used to implement the way we process your data to ensure your rights are adequately protected. Who Do We Share Your Personal Data With?
We do not sell, rent or lease your information to others.
We share your personal data with other Skydance companies, including companies in the United States, all of which carry out activities similar or related to the activities performed by SAM. They help us manage the employment selection process. We also transfer your data to them for internal administrative purposes.
We share your information with third parties to the extent they provide us with services which involves the processing of data. These recipients include Lever, Inc., who provide our recruiting software and Microsoft Corporation, who hosts our data.
We will also, when processing data for job applications, share your data with:
- background check providers to verify the information that you provided as part of your application;
- recruitment agents through whom you have made your application; and
- referees (as provided by you) to identify you so they can provide a reference.
Where do we process your Personal Data?
Your data will be processed in Spain and outside of Spain including in the United States of America. We will only share your data with third parties outside of the European Economic Area, if the third party:
- complies with the US Department of Commerce’s EU-US Privacy Shield and has certified that it will adhere to the EU-US Privacy Shield Principles of Notice, Choice, Accountability for Onward Transfer, Security, Data Integrity and Purpose Limitation, Access, and Recourse, Enforcement and Liability. - has entered into standard data protection clauses adopted pursuant to European Commission Decisions 2004/915/EC and 2010/87/EU.
How Long Do We Keep Your Data?
If you are hired at SAM, we keep your data as long as you are an employee and for the length of time required following your employment.
If you are not hired, we keep your data and consider you for similar additional positions for four (4) years, after which we will delete your information.
Can You Ask Us To Stop Processing Your Information?
Yes you can. You have certain rights with respect to the data we process about you. The rights available to you depend on our reason for processing your information and may be limited in certain circumstances, for example, where fulfilling your request would adversely affect other individuals, where there are overriding public interest reasons or where we are required by law to retain your data. The refusal to provide information or the exercise of your rights of erasure, objection or restriction of the processing of your information could impair the selection process and as a result, we may not be able to complete an assessment of your application
If you would like to exercise any of your rights, you may do so by sending notice in writing to us at euprivacy@skydance.com and identifying yourself as a candidate and providing the following information: (i) name, surname; (ii) copy of your identification card or equivalent document (and, if acting on behalf of another person, the appropriate authorization in this regard); (iii) purpose of the request; (iv) address for notification and (v) the date and your scanned signature.
What Do We Ask of You?
We ask that you provide current, accurate, and truthful information about yourself and that you keep any information that we may provide to you in the selection process confidential.
Can You Submit Intellectual Property?
Please do not send us any pitches, ideas, work, stories, treatments, concepts, bibles, scripts, graphic work, artwork, music, software code or other creative material or information through the application process. We do not accept unsolicited submissions.
We may ask you for a demo reel or portfolio, depending on the position. Please ensure that you include only past material that has been published and is available to the general public, and that you have the right to use.

This Privacy and IP Policy was updated in May 2020. We reserve the right to amend this Privacy and IP Policy from time to time to reflect changing legal requirements or our processing practices. Any such changes will be posted on this website and will be effective upon posting.
