Jennifer Garner, Zoe Saldana Join Ryan Reynolds in 'The Adam Project' for Skydance, Netflix
Jennifer Garner and Zoe Saldana are joining Ryan Reynolds in sci-fi action adventure The Adam Project for Netflix.
Reynolds is re-teaming with Free Guy director Shawn Levy on the movie, which will be produced by Levy’s 21 Laps, David Ellison’s Skydance and Reynolds’ Maximum Effort.
Reynolds will star as a man who must travel back in time to get help from his 13-year-old self. Together, they encounter their late father, who is now the same age as Reynolds.
Garner is playing the boy’s mother while Saldana’s is the adult character’s wife, a fighter pilot.
Jonathan Tropper is behind the screenplay, a rewrite based on a script by Mark Levin, Jennifer Flackett, and TS Nowlin.
Along with Levy and Reynolds, Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger will produce for Skydance, which worked with the streamer on Six Underground and Old Guard, and developed The Adam Project.
Executive producers are Dan Levine and Dan Cohen for 21 Laps, George Dewey and Patrick Gooing for Maximum Effort, as well as Mary McLaglen, Josh McLaglen, Mark Levin and Jennifer Flackett.
The Adam Project will be the first project under The Group Effort Initiative, a self-financed diversity and inclusion program from Reynolds’ Maximum Effort and Blake Lively’s B for Effort banner that aims to give people of color, across all ages, a chance to work and learn on the actor’s productions.
Garner, who is working with Netflix on feature comedy Yes Day, is repped by CAA, Linden and Sloane Offer.
Saldana, repped by CAA, LBI and Morris Yorn, is reprising her role in James Cameron’s multiple Avatar sequel movies and is set to star in Netflix limited drama series From Scratch.
