Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson’s Apple TV+ Comedy Casts Natalie Martinez and Brittany Ishibashi
Apple TV+’s upcoming comedy series starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson has added Natalie Martinez and Brittany Ishibashi to the cast.
McConaughey and Harrelson, who are close friends in real life, play versions of themselves in the 10-episode series. The official logline describes the series as “a heartfelt odd couple love story revolving around their strange and beautiful bond” which is “tested when their combined families attempt to live together on Matthew’s ranch in Texas.”
Martinez will play Matthew’s wife, Valentina, while Ishibashi plays Woody’s wife, Joy. They join previously announced cast member Holland Taylor, who plays Mac, Matthew’s mother.
Martinez is best known for starring in series such as “Bad Monkey” on Apple TV+, “Ordinary Joe” on NBC, “The I-Land” on Netflix and “Kingdom” on AT&T’s Audience Network. She is repped by UTA, Atlas Artists, the Initiative Group and attorney Hansen, Jacobson, Teller, Hoberman, Newman, Warren, Richman, Rush, Kaller, Gellman, Meigs & Fox.
Ishibashi is knowing for “Runaways” on Hulu, “Political Animals” on the USA Network and “Grace and Frankie” on Netflix. She is repped by Kyle Fritz Management, Innovative Artists and Darren Trattner at Jackoway Tyerman Wertheimer Mandelbaum Morris Bernstein Trattner & Klein.
Serving as executive producers are McConaughey, Harrelson and showrunner David West Read as well as David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Matt Thunell for Skydance; Bill Bost; Jeremy Plager; and Jason Winer, who will direct multiple episodes including the pilot.
Skydance Television produces the series for Apple TV+, marking the latest in a string of collaborations between the studio and the streamer that includes “Foundation” and Read’s “The Big Door Prize” as well as upcoming series “Neuromancer” and “12.12.12.”
